Cookies

We may collect data on the use of services through cookies and other similar techniques, such as local browser storage, application identifiers, or device identifiers.

1. Cookies, Javascript and server logs

A cookie is a small text file that the browser stores on the user's device. Cookies contain an anonymous, individual identifier that allows us to identify and count the different browsers visiting our website. Cookies do not travel by themselves on the web; they are stored on the user's device together with a website visited by the user. Only the server that sent the cookie can read and use it. Cookies and similar techniques do not harm the user's device or files, nor can they be used to run software or spread malware.

Javascript and server logs allow us to collect data about how and when our services are used: for example, from which website the user was transferred to our service, when and which of our websites the user visited, which advertiser ads the user saw and clicked on our website, which browser is used, the user's screen resolution, the operating system and version, and the IP address.

The purpose of cookies and similar techniques is to analyze and further develop our services in order to serve users better. Among other things, these techniques allow the user to avoid re-entering logins, passwords, and personalization options whenever desired.

We use cookies and similar techniques to statistically monitor the number of visitors to our services and to measure the effectiveness of marketing. For example, we may collect data in marketing emails and newsletters to find out whether messages have been opened and whether any action has been taken because of them, such as visiting the website. To improve the usability of our sites, we may run short experiments in which we also record data on the user's mouse movements and clicks on a given page.

We may also use data collected from the use of our websites to produce marketing or content targeted to a certain browser. We can create audience segments according to the websites that certain browsers have visited within a predefined period. Those audience segments are shown advertising or content that is likely to interest them.

A browser that belongs to the target group may, for example, often visit a football website and therefore be classified in the "sports" group. We may use our partners to create segments, in which case we ensure through contractual agreements that the partner uses the data only for Rive's purposes and does not use the data in its own operations or disclose it to other parties. In some cases, we may also use behavioral data collected on websites outside Rive to create segments and targeted advertising and marketing.

The user cannot be identified by cookies alone. Subject to privacy legislation and the data description of each service, data obtained with cookies and similar techniques may be combined with any information received from the user in another context, as described in the Privacy Policy. If the user has a login to the Rive price estimation tool or has requested an offer, estimate, or valuation visit from us, we may use Rive login data and the observed data from using the services to enrich each other.

Third parties, such as advertising networks, use cookies and similar techniques to carry out targeted marketing based on the user's likely areas of interest. We collaborate with advertising networks so that the advertising shown to users is as relevant as possible. Cookies allow us to display ads based, for example, on websites the user has previously visited. We also measure the effectiveness of such advertising and marketing.

2. Types of cookies

Functional cookies

Purposes of use: enabling site functionalities such as login, shopping cart features, and language settings.

Examples: in practice, these cookies allow the site to remember login details, keep products in the shopping cart while the user continues shopping, and display the site in the correct language.

Product development and business reporting

Purposes of use: enabling improvements to the user experience of websites and applications and reporting that supports business decisions.

Examples: these cookies allow Rive to deduce which of our services are popular and which service features are used the most. This data allows us to improve our services and fix errors in them.

Advertising and marketing reporting

Purposes of use: enabling reports on how often an ad has been seen or whether the user has clicked on an ad.

Examples: these cookies allow us to report on the success of advertising, for example whether users have clicked on ads. In addition, these cookies collect data that allows us to ensure that users are not shown the same ads repeatedly.

Marketing and targeted advertising

Purposes of use: targeted advertising based on the use of Rive sites and the use of third-party sites.

Examples: these cookies are intended to show Rive advertising to users that is appropriate, interesting, and specifically tailored to them.

3. Other identifiers

Mobile applications contain an individual identifier used for targeted advertising and application research. The identifier also makes it possible to report how and how often the application is used for product development purposes. The identifier is comparable to a cookie.

4. How can you influence this?

Creating a new cookie profile

By deleting browser cookies, the user's identifier changes regularly according to the user profile based on observed behavior. However, this does not completely stop data collection or targeted digital advertising, but it does cancel targeting based on previous behavioral data.

The login data for the Rive estimation tool and the estimated price or valuation request login data.

The user may object to the use of data related to Rive login data for marketing and digital advertising purposes. The request must be sent to privacy@rive.es.

Third-party marketing targeting

Advertising networks carry out targeted advertising based on behavioral data collected on third-party sites such as Rive. The user may reject all or part of third-party targeted advertising through the relevant site.
